Moving Aquatic Plants

Aquatic plants are delicate and need special attention when moving. Begin by carefully removing the plants from the substrate, making sure not to damage the roots. Wrap them in damp paper towels or place them in plastic bags with some tank water to keep them moist. Plants should be transported separately from fish to avoid any unnecessary stress. If the trip is long, it’s important to re-wet the plants periodically. Once you’ve reached your destination, replant the aquatic flora as soon as possible to prevent them from drying out. Ensure the water conditions are ideal before placing them back into the tank.
