Highlander cat history

The Highlander cat is a relatively new and distinctive breed, developed in the early 2000s in the United States. The breed was created by crossing two hybrid breeds: the Desert Lynx and the Jungle Curl. Breeders aimed to produce a domestic cat with a wild appearance but a friendly and affectionate temperament. The result was the Highlander, a cat with striking physical features, such as tufted ears, often with a slight curl, and a powerful, muscular build reminiscent of wildcats.
